The 10 Best Beaches in Nassau and Paradise Island You Can Actually Get To

Every destination has its own rhythm. Nassau moves at a pace that rewards curiosity — the best experiences here aren't in the brochures, they're around the next corner.

Cable Beach

The main resort strip. Three miles of white sand with calm turquoise water. Chairs and umbrellas available from nearby hotels. Gets crowded midday when cruise ships are in port.

Junkanoo Beach

Walking distance from the cruise port downtown. Small but convenient, with a beach bar and food vendors. Best for quick dips between exploring Bay Street shops.

Cabbage Beach

On Paradise Island near Atlantis. Stunning stretch of sand with excellent snorkeling on the eastern end. Less crowded than Cable Beach on weekdays.

Love Beach

About 20 minutes west of downtown. Locals' favorite with virtually no tourists. Bring your own shade and supplies — there are no vendors.

Goodman Bay

Between Cable Beach and downtown. Popular with local families on weekends. Calm shallow water, good for small children. Free public access.

Adelaide Beach

Southwest coast, completely off the tourist track. Empty most days, rocky in spots but beautiful. The nearby Adelaide Village is one of the oldest settlements on the island.

Water conditions change daily. Check with your hotel or a local before swimming at unfamiliar beaches. Reef-safe sunscreen is recommended throughout Nassau — the coral systems are fragile and worth protecting.
