Aruba Travel Guide: Everything You Need to Know Before You Go

Every destination has its own rhythm. Aruba moves at a pace that rewards curiosity — the best experiences here aren't in the brochures, they're around the next corner.

Why Aruba

Aruba delivers what most destinations promise but few provide — genuine beauty, real culture, and enough variety to fill a week without repeating yourself. It's not a theme park version of paradise. It's the real thing.

Getting There

Fly into Queen Beatrix International Airport (AUA). Direct flights from most major US cities. Currency: Aruban Florin (AWG), USD accepted everywhere. Language: Papiamento, Dutch, English, Spanish.

Best Time to Visit

Year-round (outside hurricane belt). Temperature range: 78°F (26°C) to 89°F (32°C). Shoulder season (May–June, November) offers the best value with nearly identical weather.

What Not to Miss

Eagle Beach — wide, white, and consistently ranked among the world's best. The famous fofoti (divi-divi) trees make it instantly recognizable.

Baby Beach — on the southeastern tip. A lagoon-like bay with water so calm and shallow it looks like a swimming pool. Perfect for children and snorkeling.

Local Food and Dining

Zeerovers — a fisherman's wharf where they weigh your fish and fry it to order. $10–15 per plate with a waterfront view. Cash only. The most authentic food experience on the island.

Planning Your Trip

Book accommodation and flights 3–4 months ahead for high season. One week is the sweet spot for trip length. A travel advisor who knows Aruba personally can handle the logistics and get you perks you wouldn't get booking direct.
